The Bullfight

Hooves Did In!

Bull has charged
Now restrained
Hooves dig in
To fight again

Sun beats down
Roar of the crowd
A mighty sound
His hooves dig in

Dust is rising
Cowboy goes sliding
Fighting to continue
To restrain the beast

Crowd cheers
Begging the cowboy
To bring the beast
To a halt

Heat rises
Sweat begins
Dust in face
Stings the eyes

And the hooves dig in
Determine this time
To win the struggle
Between beast and man

You didn’t think I’d tell you
Who wins —
Did you?
That would be silly!
