~The Cool Facts ~

    • Fact # 1 There slime makes it easier to move and protects them from sharp objects in the garden, such as rocks and twigs.
    • Fact # 2 So if you spot a oorey-gooey slimy trail in your garden then the culprit is a slug for sure!  
    • Fact #  3 A slug could crawl over a sharp razor and not be cut.
    • Fact # 4  Slug use there sense of smell to find there way round the garden.
    • Fact # 5  They can also use their slime trail to find there way home.
    • Fact # 6  It is when their gooey slim drys it turns a silver colour. 
    • Fact # 7  Slugs like cool moist places to hang out!
    • Fact # 8  Their 'cousins' are oysters, clams and octopi.
    • Fact # 9  A slug is a type of mollusk, called gastropod. Which means 'stomach foot'. That sounds so gross! Yuck!
    • Fact # 10 A slug's eyes are very sensitive to light,
    • Fact # 11 Like Scottie Slug the eat leaves and garden plants.
    • Fact # 12 Slugs have not teeth or tongues,
    • Fact # 13 Most of a slugs body is one large body used as a foot. How neat is that?
    • Fact # 14 Slugs don't like extreme whether conditions.  Which is why Scottie is always complaining! Especially when its hot! 
    • Fact # 15 They dehydrate very quickly and in extreme weather will die. No wonder Scottie likes snowy's water bowl!  
    • Fact # 16 The life span of a slug is one to six years.
