Words, Words, Words!

Word Play

I love to play with words
And let them roll around my tongue
Allowing them to slip through my lips
As I watch others react is fun.

I love to watch them form
On my computer screen
Falling into line as they tell
What something means to me.

I love to play around with
The words on my screen
To move a word here to there
Better revealing what I mean

I love to play with the sounds of words
To gather them into a rhyme
As for finding perfect rhythm
I never really make the time.

So if you too love to play with words
Come visit me at Word Play
Where I play with rhyming words
To discover what I have to say.

To Hot for a Slug!

Too hot!

Its too hot for Scottie Slug
Today,
He’d be worried, that he
Would sizzle in the
Scorching summer sun.

So Scottie Slug
Stayed in a soothing puddle
of water instead.
My leafy lettuces were safe,
at least for now.

Secret Sunday

Secrets

Not sure I have any
Nice Try Kat
Did you really think I'd tell
you my secrets!
After week one
You now know
Plenty about me

Let’s see
I’ve felt like a bullfrog
And have CP
And epilepsy too

You know I hate slugs
Like to have a natter
Don’t mind a challenge
And I live with my cat

Arrh Ok! May be one more
I may not like slugs
My co-tenant does
Almost as much mice!

Sliver Slug Poetry

Apparently I'm now writing a book
of Slug Poetry

Secrets of Scottie Slug

Ssh, Ok!
I am going to tell you
all about Scottie Slug.

That slippery, slimy slug
that slid silver slim
over my lettuce.

I know that he
slips and he slimes
by the light of the silver moon.

I know as
I slipped out
last night.

Scottie was
slipping and sliding
and smiting about.

You could hear
small, silly, squeaky
screams of delight.

In front of his
silly, snotty, slimy
slug friends.

Having a special feast
were these small, slimy, slugs
ON MY LETTUCE!

Again this morning
There is the slimy
Thank you in SILVER LETTERS!

Slugs Revenge

Silver Letters

This small
slimy snail
has slid over
MY LETTUCE!

Oooh! Arrr!
Look, it has left
a slimy
Silver trail!

Little dots
are those dashes
I can’t quite see
I think they’re tiny silver letters.

My gosh!
That slug
who got under your skin
Has left you a letter.

I wonder what
the slippery slimy thing
had to say
Dear

May be the slug
left you
a thank you note
he enjoyed your lettuce.

Errh! small
Slimy things
Should leave my
Lettuce leaves alone!

Don’t be like that
He left you
A silver lettered
Thank you note!

* My slug has created some interesting discussions among the MoP crew.  Silver letters indeed! Trust children's writers to find a story in a poem about a SLUG!

Poets like to natter!

 Having a natter!

Chit chat
Chitter-chatter
The poets are having a natter

Talking about some
Rhythm and rhyme
To create their mark in time

Chit chat, natter-natter
The poets are talking about
The things that matter

Well, to them anyway
Chitter-chatter
Chit chat!
